Welcome to Project Ironfist! Here's what you need to do to get started . You can also watch our video series "Modding with an Iron Fist" : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RoNJ4y5SSig

  1. Make sure you can run the game. See Running the Game and run the installer.
  2. Do you want to make maps? The installer will also give the Map Editor, which works the same as the original Heroes II Map Editor.
  3. Do you want to script maps? See Basics of Scripting . You can write them using any text editor such as Notepad, but we recommend Notepad++: http://notepad-plus-plus.org/
  4. If you want to change the art, sounds, or other resources used by the game, you'll need to download our tools: IronfistTools.zip  .
  5. Do you want convenient access to all files used in the making of Project Ironfist, including previous versions? You'll want to download our repository. Follow the instructions in Setting up the Repository
  6. Do you also want to upload files to the Project Ironfist repository without asking anyone? Request to join the Project Ironfist team, and we'll give you the repository's password.
  7. Do you want to change the game's source code? You'll need the repository and a copy of Visual C++, and you should read Getting Started with Coding .
